YSR Fisheries Guarantee Scheme funds released by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy:
AP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has released the funds of the YSR Fisheries Guarantee Scheme. On Tuesday morning, he pressed a computer button at his camp office in Tadepalli and deposited cash directly into the beneficiary’s bank accounts. For the third year in a row, the Andhra Pradesh government has launched a scheme to provide financial assistance to fishing families who lose their livelihood during the sea ban.
The government deposited the money in everyone’s accounts without leaving anyone eligible under the scheme. Of this, a total of 1,19,875 families will get a benefit of Rs.119,87,50,000 at the rate of Rs.10,000. In the last two years, fishermen have made a profit of Rs 211.71 crore. This year it is making a profit of Rs 331.58 crore in three years along with another Rs 119.87 crore.
However, the state government has increased the allowance from Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000 as promised during the elections. For two years, the government has been providing regular allowances to fishing families during the hunting ban. Thus, in 2019, 1,02,478 families received a benefit of Rs 102.48 crore and in 2020, 1,09,231 families received the assistance of Rs 109.23 crore.
