Violence continues unabated in Bengal even after the elections: Violence continues unabated in Bengal even after the elections. Tensions were high during Union Minister Muralitharan’s visit to West Midnapore. The convoy of foreign ministers was attacked with stones and sticks by thugs. Minister Muralitharan alleged that this was the work of three Trinamool activists.

Several personal staff members, including Muralitharan’s car driver, were injured in the attack. The Union Minister canceled his visit amid intense tension. The incident took place on the same day that a Union Home Ministry team was touring the state to prepare a report on the violence in Bengal. The party leaders said that 10 BJP workers were killed in Bengal after the election results came out.

Union Minister Muralitharan’s car windows were also smashed in the attack. His Twitter account revealed that his convoy was attacked while on his way to review the situation in Bengal. He said his visit was meaningfully shortened. Muralitharan revealed the details on Twitter on Thursday. Muralitharan tweeted that locals attacked his convoy, smashed car windows, and injured his personal staff. He also attached a video of the attack to his tweet. He alleged that it was the work of TMC gangsters.

If so, Governor Jagdeep Dhankar has sent a report to the Central Government on the security situation in West Bengal. Violence has been rampant in the state since the results of the Assembly elections were released.
