Telangana Cabinet approves setting up of seven medical colleges in the state:

The Telangana cabinet discussed the corona situation in the state. Reviewed corona outbreaks, medical care for victims, and measures are taken by medical authorities for control. Medical officials told the Cabinet that the spread of corona in the state was steadily declining. 

The Telangana Cabinet approves setting up of seven medical colleges in the state and also directed the state health officials along with the health secretary to visit and review the border areas of Khammam, Madhira, Sathupalli, Alampur, Gadwall, Narayanpet, Maktal, Nagarjuna Sagar, Kodad, and Huzur Nagar where the corona is most prevalent and take appropriate steps for corona control. 

In the wake of the decline of the second wave, the Cabinet directed the medical department to be on full alert for the news of the arrival of the third wave and to prepare relevant regulatory plans. It directed the medical department to review the conditions of hospitals in all areas, districts, etc. of the state and take steps to devise all kinds of infrastructure.

The Cabinet approved the government’s decision to set up 7 medical colleges in Nagar Kurnool, Wanaparthy, Manchiryala, Jagtial, Sangareddy, Mahabubabad, and Bhadradri districts in the state and their affiliated nursing colleges. The Cabinet also sanctioned nursing colleges in addition to the existing medical colleges. 

The Cabinet has decided to set up a multi-super specialty hospital in Warangal on the premises of the present jail. The Cabinet also directed the Home Ministry officials to relocate the inmates present in the jail to another suitable place and hand over the jail space to the Medical Department within a month. It was decided to select a vast area in Mamunur and undertake the construction of prison with state-of-the-art facilities. The Cabinet also directed the Home Ministry officials to prepare construction proposals in this regard and bring them to the next Cabinet.
