Social media companies like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram have given some leeway to their users. All three social media platforms were paralyzed across India on Friday night. Users had a hard time sending and receiving messages. Some people had not even logged into the WhatsApp web. WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram servers went down for about 45 minutes at exactly 10:45 pm on Friday night.
Although the company did not disclose the specific reasons for the shutdown of WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, the services were disrupted due to technical issues, a Facebook India spokesperson said. Many said they were troubled by a problem that arose technically. However, they have released a statement saying that the issue has been resolved for a while and apologize for the inconvenience caused to the customers.
According to a report received by them, about 28,500 Instagram users across the country have been affected by the technical glitch, as well as 34,127 WhatsApp users, and 49 percent of users said they were bothered about the WhatsApp connection. Also, 48 percent of users said they could not send or receive messages. Many lead-generating and digital marketing companies faced the problem with regular marketing.
A similar problem was faced by social media users even 3 months ago. On December 11, 2020, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp services were interrupted for a while. Users immediately revealed their problems on Twitter and Facebook as WhatsApp and Instagram servers went down.
