Shock to BJP in Nagarjuna Sagar by-elections:
The BJP suffered a major setback before the Nagarjuna Sagar by-elections. Shock to BJP is the party’s senior leader Kadari Anjaiah Yadav left the BJP and joined the TRS in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. On Tuesday, CM KCR invited Anjaiah Yadav to the party facilitating him with a pink scarf. Along with him, Tribal Morcha state vice-president Baburao Nayak, Gurrampodu former MP Ramachandran, former MPTCs, former sarpanches, and activists joined the TRS. Devarakonda MLA Ravindra Kumar Nayak and Huzurnagar MLA Shanampudi Saidireddy also participated in the program held at Erravalli farm.
Leaders who joined in TRS said they hoped the BJP would do something for the state but their hopes were dashed. They were angry that the leaders in the party were not respected and those who were struggling were not recognized. Constituency development and welfare are possible only with the CM KCR, he said. They clarified that it is certain that the BJP will lose the deposit in the by-election of Nagarjunasagar. Anjaiah Yadav said that he would win TRS candidate Nomula Bhagat as an MLA. He said the BJP state leadership was in a state of disarray, neglecting those working for the party, and the day of the BJP’s disappearance in the state was not far off.
Bhagat, the son of the late MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah, was given a ticket and CM KCR expressed his sympathy. Kadari Anjaiah Yadav, who contested for the TDP in the 2014 elections, came third with 27,858 votes. He did not contest the 2019 elections as Sagar’s seat was allotted to Congress as part of the alliance. Meanwhile, many BJP leaders and activists in the Sagar constituency are reportedly preparing to resign from the party and join the TRS.
All the party ranks are working enthusiastically with the allotment of a ticket to Bhagat, son of late MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah. From handing over the B-form to Bhagat to filing nominations and campaigning, the local leadership is running smoothly. The BJP, on the other hand, split the party with the ticket allotment. The handing over of the ticket to Dr. Ravikumar sparked deep discontent in the party. Meanwhile, a photo of BJP MP Soyam Bapurao meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media seeking to remove Lambadas from the list of STs has caused outrage in Lambadas. The incident has narrowed the BJP leadership in Sagar.
