Ship accident in Indonesia, Hundreds of passengers jumped into the sea in the Moluccas to protect themselves, when a ship carrying passengers caught fire in Indonesia. The ship was on its way to Sulabes Island from Ternate Province in North Maluku when it suddenly caught fire. Video footage taken by the Indonesian search and rescue agency showed fire and smoke blowing from the ship.
The auxiliary crew observed all the passengers jumping into the sea from the deck of the ship wearing life jackets in fear. The ship was carrying 181 passengers and 14 crew, officials said. They said one was missing and the rest were rescued. 274 people were rescued. Still scurrying for a missing person. The fire is believed to have started from the ship’s engine room. They are trying to find out the reasons why the actual fires.
The Indonesian government commended the rescue crews for alerting and rescuing the lives of the passengers with machine boats. That said, it was an adventure. The ship’s captain immediately acknowledged the fire and aided the crew in a timely manner. Some of the passengers said that they did not think of getting out of such an accident and that it was their luck. Some of them said that whales are more prevalent in the Molucca Sea.
