Hyderabad: The second installment of the vaccination program will be conducted in the state from Monday, said the Director of Public Health, Dr. Srinivas Rao. He spoke to reporters on Sunday. The second dose is given within 28 to 45 days of taking the first dose. It is suggested to register through mobile and Aadhaar. Registration can be done at covin.gov.in. He said the vaccine would be given to people over 60 years of age as well as chronic patients. It is estimated that there will be 50 lakh people in these two categories. Those with chronic diseases should bring along the ID card along with the certificate given by the doctors .. or it will suffice if uploaded online. 20 chronic diseases have been identified. He said only those who have registered online will be vaccinated. The vaccine is said to be completely free at government centers. Private centers were ordered to give the vaccine at the price fixed by the government.
In private centers, the vaccine can cost Rs 150 and the service charge is Rs 100. The vaccine can be given even without the service charge. Vaccination will continue in 102 centers in the state on Monday and vaccination will be carried out in 45 government and 57 private centers. Two centers have been set up in each district and 12 vaccination centers have been set up in Hyderabad. He said more than a thousand centers will be upgraded to distribution centers in the coming week. DME Ramesh Reddy said do not expect to be vaccinated on the first day. He said free vaccines would be available to everyone at government hospitals. Everyone is advised to register online and get vaccinated. He said the vaccine was being given free of cost in government hospitals. Wheelchairs will be made available for the elderly as much as possible at the centers.
