Raj Bhavan siege on the 30th over petrol prices:

Left parties have called for a siege of the Raj Bhavan on May 30 to protest the rise in prices of petrol, diesel, and other essential commodities. A meeting of five Left parties was held at the CPI (M) state office MB Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by CPI (M) state secretary Chadha Venkat reddy. CPI (M) state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, state secretariat members DG Narasimha Rao, CPI (M) state secretariat members N Balamallesh, CPI (ML) New Democracy state secretariat members Vemulapalli Venkatramaiah, and MCPI (U) state secretariat members Upender Reddy, Gadagoni Ravi, SUCI (C) state leaders Murahari and Teja participated. 

A joint statement was subsequently released. He said the meeting of the Left parties in the state was part of an all-India call by five central Left parties to stage nationwide protests against the hike in petrol prices till May 30. He said the issues discussed were rising petrol prices, skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, failure of central and state governments to curb the spread of corona, non-vaccination of all, agrarian issues, sale of state-owned enterprises, privatization policies, the political situation in the state and sale of land. To this extent, the ranks of the respective parties were urged to make the agitation programs a success.

Major decisions:

– Protests, dharnas, and demonstrations should be organized in the district centers on the 19th of this month in the state against petrol price hikes, rise in prices of essential commodities, agrarian issues, and sale of land.

– In the meantime, protests should be held in zones and towns.

– Protests are to be held at oil companies across the state on the 24th of this month. Protests should be held at Sangeet in Secunderabad, in front of the regional offices of the Central Oil Companies at Sanath Nagar and Cherlapally.

– The siege of the Raj Bhavan should be carried out on the 30th of this month.
