State Excise Minister V.S. Srinivas Gowd said on Thursday he visited the district central hospital and inspected the covid ward, oxygen plant, and covid testing unit.

The minister spoke to doctors who examine covid patients. Covid 19 at the hospital asked for oxygen, ventilators, medications, and other details for patients. He also spoke to the staff nurse on duty at the covid ward and inquired about the treatment and meals provided to the covid patients in the ward.

The minister later told media persons that covid Care Centers would be set up at Devarkadra, Balanagar, and Koilakonda Mandal centers in the district from the 30th of this month to provide on-the-spot treatment to general covid patients in view of the second phase of covid overcrowding. 

He said 50 beds would be set up in each center, which would have all the facilities except oxygen and ventilator, treating them and providing them with nutritious food. He said more centers would also be opened if required.

The minister appealed to the people not to line up for covid exams unnecessarily and only those who are in need should undergo the exams. Crowds said everyone in the group had a chance of getting covid so only those in need should come to the hospital and get tested.

He said there was no need to worry about the availability of other medication in the district besides those related to Covid 19.

The minister advised getting rid of it in advance.

He appealed for immediate check-ups for coughs and colds and for people not to neglect covid. He urged doctors and hope activists to come to the house to test such people even if they get positive, so all those with normal symptoms should be in-home isolation. 

He appealed to the people of the district not to go to Hyderabad unnecessarily as all the necessary arrangements are in place in the district.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. Ram Kishan, Deputy DMHO Dr. Shashikant, District Immunization Officer Dr. Shankar, Mahabubnagar Government Medical College Dr. Kiran, Nodal Officer Dr. Jeevan, and others were present.
