It is well known that Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress party has won a solid victory in the horrific war in West Bengal. TMC is set to take power in Bengal for the third time in a row. Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee will be sworn in as West Bengal chief minister on Wednesday, May 5.
At a party meeting in Kolkata on Monday, TMC MLAs unanimously elected Mamata Banerjee as the leader of the Legislative Assembly. After Mamata’s swearing-in, the ministers in the new cabinet will be sworn in on May 6. Subrata Mukherjee will be the Protem Speaker. Biman Banerjee is expected to continue as Speaker after that.
After a meeting with party MLAs, Mamata Banerjee will meet state Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar at 7 pm tonight. It is learned that Mamata had said that she would form the government after her party won a solid victory in the Assembly elections.
However, in Mamata Nandigram, the BJP leader lost to Suvendu Adhikari. Mamata Banerjee will be sworn in as Chief Minister for the third time. Within six months, Mamata will have to win an MLA seat somewhere.
