Journalists as frontline workers: Union Health Secretary Lav Agarwal

The spread of the corona second wave in the country is causing concern. Union Health Secretary Lav Agarwal urged the people to remain vigilant and exercise restraint. Journalists are also identified as frontline workers.

He also directed the states to take precautionary measures. He said there were over one lakh active cases in 12 states. He expressed concern over the recent rise in cases in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.

The positivity rate was 22 percent in 22 states. Corona coronary vaccination has already started in 12 states and 20 lakh people aged 18-44 have been vaccinated.
