Free coronavirus vaccine from May 1st, even for those over 18, Yogi Adityanath:
UP CM Yogi Adityanath has announced that all the people in the state will be given free vaccines from next month. His government has decided to give Free coronavirus vaccine to those above 18 years of age. Revealing the decision taken by the state cabinet to this effect, he said that their government was doing all it could to eradicate the corona in the country.
Recently Adityanath has also been exposed to covid positive. “Coronavirus loses, India wins,” he tweeted. Authorities have decided to implement a weekend lockdown in UP. The lockdown is in effect from 8 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday.
Essentials, however, are exempt from these restrictions. The government announced that they had made this decision. Yogi Adityanath said that they would increase the number of vaccination centers and set up a database system for the respective ages in the state. UP, the largest state in the country has a population of about 20 crores.
The Assam government has also announced that it will vaccinate everyone for free from next month. Hemant Bishwa Sharma, the state health minister, tweeted that the vaccine would be given free to people between the ages of 18 and 45 and that all people should avail the facility.
Other states are expected to make a similar decision. He said funds raised last year under the Assam Health Fund would be used for the purchase of vaccines. He said they had approached Bharat Biotech for a crore dose of Covaxin vaccine.
