Electricity bill payment counters in Telangana are longer open till 12 noon:
For the convenience of Telangana electricity consumers, the current bill collection counters open till 12 noon. Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) has already sought the relevant authorities.
TSSPDCL said consumers should keep all bill collection counters open longer to pay bills as well as improve bill collection. Electricity bill payment counters are now open every day until 10 am. Instead, TSSPDCL asked to keep it open from 6 am to 12 pm. Electricity Revenue Officers (ERO) collection counters are also said to be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
TSSPDCL was directed to take necessary permission from the police to operate the collection counters during the lockdown. Also, the Chief General Manager (Revenue) said that TSSPDCL officials have been directed to provide the required identity cards and permits to the private agency persons operating the collection counters.
The hints came after consumers complained via emails and WhatsApp that they were having some trouble paying their monthly electricity bills during the lockdown period. With the counters closing after 10 a.m., customers are having trouble paying their bills offline.
As electricity is an emergency service sector, employees are desperately performing their duties during the epidemic. Sanitation workers, along with employees from the medical, health, and police departments, were vaccinated with priority by being treated as frontline workers. They want to identify electrical employees as well. “It is a fact that employees working in the power sector, along with other frontline workers, are very important in tackling the crisis caused by Covid-19,” TSPJAC said.
