The world is on high alert as corona cases are being registered in India. Canada bans Indian flights. Canada has also recently joined the list. Transport Minister Omar Algebra has announced a 30-day ban on passenger and commercial flights from India.
It was revealed that the decision was taken as most of the air travelers coming from India to Canada identified corona cases. He said it applies to India as well as Pakistan. He, however, said that cargo planes and planes carrying emergency supplies such as vaccines would continue as usual.
In the past two weeks, there have been 18 flights from delhi to Toronto or Vancouver from delhi and two from Lahore, with at least one passenger on each flight ill, the health ministry said in a statement. However, the government has already announced a 14-day quarantine for travelers arriving in Canada.
The country is currently experiencing a third-release Corona boom. 9 thousand cases were registered in the country yesterday. This brings the total number of cases to 11,51,276 so far. Of these, 23,812 died. It is understood that similar bans have been imposed on British aircraft in the past.
