Blocked the oxygen supply to delhi by a Haryana state government official:
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia alleged that a state government official had blocked the oxygen supply to delhi from an oxygen plant in Faridabad, Haryana. In fact, he said, many hospitals in their city were facing severe oxygen shortages. He blamed the Haryana official’s behavior. He demanded the Center to increase the oxygen quota for their city from 378 metric tonnes to 700 metric tonnes.
He said a large number of patients from UP, Haryana, Rajasthan and other states were being admitted to delhi hospitals. Manish Sisodia said an official from Uttar Pradesh had also tried to prevent their city from getting oxygen, which had led to a crisis in some hospitals.
He said the oxygen supply was finally restored with great difficulty and oxygen should be provided equally to all the states and urged the Center to take initiative in this regard. However, he suggested that the Center should take note of the situation, especially in the oxygen-deficient states.
Sisodia appealed to the central government to see to it that the oxygen supply to their state, especially from Haryana is not stopped.
The Haryana government has not responded to the Manish Sisodia allegation. Many hospitals in delhi blamed the state government’s indifference in these dire circumstances.
The hospitals, along with the delhi government, have demanded that the Haryana government take a humanitarian approach in view of the growing covid situation in delhi. Many hospitals have expressed concern that the shortage of oxygen in their hospitals is increasing by the hour.
